Technical Overview
Adaptive Kanban is a Flexible Column Layout that shows the Kanban board and the active form on one page. Work is faster than page by page navigation. Keep the board in view and expand the Kanban pane to full screen for native behavior. The form pane supports chatter at the side or at the bottom.
For end users, the setup is pre-tuned: open records in the form pane, keep board context, continue drag and drop, and use lean, keyboard-friendly controls. Per view defaults such as pane width and target form view are defined once and applied consistently.
For implementers, compatibility is built in. Keep building Kanban and Form the standard Odoo way. Adaptive Kanban attaches at the OWL controller layer with JS patchers, so models stay unchanged and XML stays minimal. If your views follow Odoo rules, the module aligns. Configure per view options with the built-in patcher, validate on staging, then roll out.

Adaptive Kanban coexists with Omux Backend and Lavend Backend. No model changes. Minimal XML. OWL patchers attach at the controller layer. This integration makes full use of Omux and Lavend capabilities, including flexible chatter placement (side or bottom), resizable chatter, instant refresh, and more.

Integrate with Odoo Vanila Backend
Works on Odoo Community and Enterprise with the native backend. The standard development flow remains unchanged. This integration is lighter than the Omux Based setup, but it enables projects that prefer not to adopt third party backends. Core behavior and logic remain intact. Exceptions: the chatter cannot be resized and does not support flexible side or bottom placement; it follows Odoo's default automatic positioning.
