Standard Odoo Website -- What's Missing

Every business that runs an Odoo eCommerce store knows the situation: a customer wants to leave a simple note — "please deliver before 12:00 pm", "leave at the gate", or "fragile — handle with care" — but there is no place to type it during checkout. Standard Odoo Website Sale does not provide a customer comment box on the checkout or payment screen, leaving customers with no way to communicate special instructions before placing their order.
Website Customer Order Comment solves this completely. The module adds a clean Your Comment text area directly on the website payment screen — right where the customer is finalizing their order. Whether it is a delivery instruction, a special request, a gift message, or any other customer note, the customer can type it in and submit it along with their order in a single step.
Once the order is confirmed, that customer order comment does not disappear into thin air. It flows automatically into the backend Odoo system and appears under a dedicated Customer Order Comment tab on the confirmed sales order. Your sales team sees the note the moment they open the order — no need to call the customer or search through emails to find what they requested.
But it does not stop at the sales order. The customer order comment is also automatically passed through to the delivery order, where the warehouse team can see the customer's instructions directly on the stock transfer screen before they pick and pack. The same comment is then carried into the customer invoice as well, under its own dedicated tab — so your accounting team always has the full picture.
And when you print a PDF report or proforma invoice, the customer order comment appears at the bottom of the printed document — giving every stakeholder, including the customer, a clear record of the instructions that were submitted with the order. Enable Customer Order Comment from Website Settings
Go to Website → Configuration → Settings and look for the Customer Order Comment option. Enable the checkbox to activate the comment field on your website checkout. Once saved, the comment box will appear on the payment screen for all customers placing orders through your Odoo website.

Customer Enters a Comment on the Payment Screen
When a customer adds products to their cart and proceeds to checkout, the Your Comment text area appears on the payment confirmation screen. The customer can type any note — delivery instructions, special requests, time preferences, or personal messages — and it will be submitted along with the order.

Once the order is confirmed, open it from Sales → Orders. A new Customer Order Comment tab is added to the sales order form.
