To set up the Sale Purchase Payment Status add-on in Odoo, begin by accessing the Odoo Apps menu. Clear any pre-existing filters from the search field. Proceed to search for the "Sale Purchase Payment Status" add-ons. Once you find the specific add-on you're looking for, select it to commence the installation procedure.

Enhanced Payment Status Visibility in Sales and Purchases.

After installing the "Sale Purchase Payment Status" module, you'll observe a new field called "Payment Status" in the list views of sales and purchases. Upon installation, the module automatically computes the payment status for existing records and continues to update it in real-time for both existing and new records based on the amount due.

Below is the availability of custom payment status:

No Invoice: This indicates that no invoice has been generated. It only considers posted invoices and does not include draft or canceled invoices.

Not Paid: The invoice has been created and posted, but the payment has not been made yet.

Partially Paid: A portion of the invoice amount has been paid, but it is not fully settled.

In Payment: The invoice is fully paid, but it has not been reconciled yet.

Paid: The invoice is fully paid and has been reconciled.

Over Paid: The invoice is paid, and an overpayment has occurred.

Filter and Group Sales Orders by Payment Status.

In the filter section, users can now filter sales orders by payment status. Additionally, there are options available to group sales orders by payment status.

Enhanced Payment Status Details in Form View.

In the form view, users can find payment status details displayed as a label on the top right side. Additionally, three new fields have been added: Payment Status, Payment Details, and Amount Due. From the Payment Details field, users can directly view or unreconcile payments for the sale order.

If we create an invoice with full payment and then issue a full refund with a credit note, the sale status reverts to "Not Paid" because there is still an outstanding amount due.

Payment Status for Purchases in List View.

You can also view the payment status for purchases in the list view, with options to filter and group by payment status. This status is based on the respective bills for purchases.

Payment Status Details on Purchase Form View.

In the purchase form view, you'll find several fields such as payment status, payment details, and amount due. Under the payment details section, you can access detailed information about payments and even view or unreconcile them directly from the purchase screen.
