Customer Quote Submissions on Checkout with Notes & Attachments | Ecommerce Cart Quote Request System

This module extends Odoo(s) website and sales functionality by enabling customers (portal users) to submit quote requests directly from the website, including the option to attach relevant files and provide detailed comments or instructions. The system ensures that only authenticated users can send quote requests by redirecting guest users to the login page before accessing the request form.



Once a quote request is submitted, the associated quotation is flagged for internal tracking, and an automated email notification is sent to the relevant sales team or team leader. All submitted requests are stored within the standard sales pipeline, preserving Odoo(s) native flow. The module supports modal based form submission from the website cart page, improving the user experience without navigating away from the cart view.

  • Website Quote Request from Cart:
    • Adds a (Proceed with Quote Request) button on the cart page as shown.
    • Allows users to add a message and upload files as part of their request.
  • Modal Form for Better UX:
    • Quote request form opens in a modal (popup) for a seamless user experience.
    • Keeps users on the same page while submitting the request.
  • Portal User Restriction:
    • Only logged in users (portal or internal) can submit quote requests.
    • Public users are redirected to the login page and returned to the quote form after login.
  • File Attachments Support:
    • Customers can upload multiple documents (images, PDFs, etc.) along with their quote request.
  • Quotation Integration:
    • Submitted requests are linked to the current quotation (if any).
    • Ensures requests are tracked using standard Odoo sales flow.
  • Automatic Notification:
    • Sends an email notification to the sales team or team leader when a new quote is submitted.
  • Confirmation Page After Request Submission:
    • After successful submission, users are redirected to a thank you page with the quotation reference.
