What this module does

Provides a bidirectional export/import system for Odoo websites. Export packages only user-created content — skipping core framework views — and import recreates the entire website structure on the target instance with automatic attachment ID remapping and view inheritance resolution.

How it works

Two wizard-driven workflows — one for export, one for import — accessible from the Website configuration menu.

Export
  1. Go to Website → Configuration → Export Website.
  2. Select the website and choose what to include — pages, views, menus, images, assets, redirects, snippet filters, and settings.
  3. Click Export — the module packages everything into a structured ZIP file.
  4. Download the ZIP file. Only user-created content is exported — framework views are skipped.
Import
  1. Go to Website → Configuration → Import Website.
  2. Upload the ZIP file — a preview shows the source info and item counts.
  3. Enter the new website name and select the company.
  4. Click Import — a new website is created with all content, images remapped, and menus rebuilt.
  5. Review the detailed import log for any skipped items or warnings.
Note: The import creates a brand-new website — it never overwrites existing websites. Asset caches are automatically cleared after import.

What gets exported

Each toggle in the export wizard controls a specific content type. All content is packaged into a clean, structured ZIP.

Views
User-created and customized views with full arch_db content and inheritance info.
Pages
Website pages with URLs, SEO metadata, publish status, and display options.
Menus
Full menu hierarchy including mega menus with content and nested submenus.
Attachments
User-uploaded images and files, plus all media referenced in page content.
CSS / JS Assets
Custom /_custom/ assets — your CSS and JavaScript customizations.
Snippet Filters
Dynamic snippet filters with their server action and filter references.
URL Redirects
301/302 redirects preserving SEO and URL routing rules.
Settings
Social links, analytics keys, custom head/footer code, CDN config, logo, and favicon.
