Features

• Three tab modes per user —each user chooses their preferred layout from Settings > Users > Preferences > UI Settings:

  • Vertical Accordion — tabs are displayed as a vertical sidebar; only one section is open at a time. Clicking a tab closes the previously open one.
  • Vertical Multi-Expand — tabs are displayed vertically; multiple sections can be open simultaneously. Each tab toggles independently.
  • Default (Horizontal) — restores Odoo's built-in horizontal tab layout with no custom styling applied. Users who do not want vertical tabs can select this option.

• Expand All / Collapse All button —a compact toolbar button appears at the top of the tab panel in both vertical modes. In Accordion mode, Expand All opens every section simultaneously, overriding the single-open restriction. In Multi-Expand mode, it opens or closes all sections in one click.

• Polished sidebar design —subtle purple-tinted panel background, soft lavender hover state, white card with gentle shadow for the active tab. Chevron icons (angle-down / angle-right) indicate the expanded and collapsed states. All transitions are optimised to keep text readable during hover.

• Per-user persistent preference —the selected mode is stored on res.users and synced to res.users.settings so the frontend can read it without an extra RPC. Each user's choice is independent and survives page reloads.

• Zero impact on Default users —users who select Default (Horizontal) get Odoo's original notebook HTML with no extra classes or styles applied, ensuring full compatibility with all standard Odoo features.
