Per-User Control
Enable or disable auto logout for each user individually. Configure it from Settings > Users, the user Login/Logout tab, or My Profile â no system-wide settings required.
Live Countdown Timer
A live countdown widget appears in the top-right corner of every backend screen. It updates every second in MM:SS format so users always know how much idle time remains.
Smart Warning System
Amber styling appears when 60 seconds remain. A red pulsing border and warning banner appear at 30 seconds. Any mouse, keyboard, touch, or scroll activity instantly resets the timer.
Full Activity Detection
Monitors mouse movement, clicks, keyboard input, touch events, and scrolling across all Odoo backend screens to distinguish real activity from idle time.
Secure Auto Logout
When the timer reaches zero, the user is redirected to the login page and the session is safely terminated â protecting sensitive data on shared workstations.
Lightweight & Native
Built with the OWL framework, zero external dependencies, and no impact on system performance. Works natively with Odoo 19 Community and Enterprise.
How It Works

1. Enable Per User
Go to Settings > Users, open a user, and on the Login/Logout tab toggle Enable Auto Logout and set the idle timeout in seconds. Users can also configure this from My Profile.
2. Timer Appears
Once enabled, a live countdown widget appears in the top-right corner of every Odoo backend screen. It shows remaining idle time in MM:SS format and updates every second.
3. Activity Resets Timer
Any detected activity â mouse movement, click, keyboard input, touch, or scroll â instantly resets the countdown to the full timeout duration and returns the widget to its normal purple state.
4. Auto Logout
If the timer reaches zero, the user is automatically logged out and redirected to the login page. No manual action is required.
Three Visual States
Normal
Purple lock icon. Session is safe with plenty of time remaining.
Warning (⤠60s)
Amber border and timer. Time to move the mouse or finish up.
Urgent (⤠30s)
Red pulsing border and warning banner. Logout is imminent.
