AI Chat History | Conversation Logging and Storage

Backend Storage for AI Assistant Interactions

This module provides a simple and effective way to log all conversations between users and the AI assistant. It automatically captures messages in the Odoo backend, allowing for easy reference and session tracking.

Main Features:

  • Automatic Session Creation:
    • When a user starts a new chat, a corresponding "Chat" record is automatically created in the backend.
    • The first message is used to identify the session for easy look-up.
  • Message Logging:
    • Every message typed by the user and every response generated by the AI is stored as a "Chat Message" record.
    • Maintains a clear chronological log of the entire conversation.
  • User Access Control (Create/Read):
    • Users are permitted to create new chat sessions through the chat interface.
    • Users can read their own previous chat history to reference past information.
    • Ensures data integrity by restricting modification or deletion of logged conversations.
  • Backend Visibility:
    • Provides a dedicated menu where chat sessions and messages can be viewed in standard Odoo List and Form views.
