Write a prompt, pick the best result

The generate wizard lets you choose the provider, account and model, set the size (square / landscape / portrait) and the number of variants, and write your prompt. Generated candidates appear side by side — click "Use this" on the one you want and it lands on the record.

Pairs with AI Connector for Odoo

AI Image Studio is a separate, paid add-on that requires the AI Connector app (open_ai_connector) plus your own connected provider. It ships with no AI credits of its own — in the AI Connector you connect either your own AI subscription (ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or Gemini via OAuth) or your own API key / model, and AI Image Studio generates through that. You set the image Provider / Account / Model once in the connector and Image Studio reuses it. Images only — this app does not generate video.

AI image generation in Odoo — your questions

Do I need the AI Connector to use this?

Yes. AI Image Studio is a separate, paid add-on that requires the AI Connector (open_ai_connector). Every generation runs through the connector, where you configure the provider, account and model.

Which image models are supported?

OpenAI gpt-image (via ChatGPT / Codex) and xAI Grok Imagine, reached through the AI Connector. AI Image Studio generates images only — no video.

Can I use my subscription instead of a per-image API key?

Yes. Because generation runs through the AI Connector, you can sign in with an OAuth subscription (e.g. ChatGPT or SuperGrok) and avoid separate per-image API billing. Classic image API keys work too.

Which records can I generate images on?

Product images (product.template and variants), contact and user avatars (res.partner, res.users), and any image field via the "Generate Image with AI" Actions-menu entry.

What is Image Remix?

Remix is image-to-image editing: start from the image already on the record and transform it with a prompt, where the provider supports it (e.g. OpenAI Codex / gpt-image). The Remix button activates once an image exists.

Is it safe and controlled?

Yes. The target image is written with the current user's own access rights, generation is opt-in per record, and every run is logged by the AI Connector for auditing.
