Your whole security model on one board
Sales Officer, Accountant, Read-Only Auditor — every role shows its members and exactly which applications they see. Duplicate a role to make a variant. Delete one and its members fall back to plain employees. Nobody ever touches a technical group.
Tick an app to hide it. That’s the whole job.
A checkbox per application, straight from your live system — so any module you install next month shows up here automatically. Below the apps, hide any individual menu at any depth, in any module.
It reads your screens so you don’t read code
Pick a document — Sales Order, Invoice, Employee, anything — and Access Studio scans the real form, list and search views and lists every button, tab, filter, printed report and action with the labels your users see. Tick what to hide. Done.
“Only their own records” — in one click
Limit which records a role can see or touch. The one-click preset covers the classic case — salespeople see their own leads only — and the visual condition builder handles anything else. Applied with Odoo’s own record-rule engine, so it also holds over API access.
Read-only roles, exports, dev mode, login — switches
Make an auditor role that sees everything and can change nothing — enforced on the server, not just cosmetically, while chat and their own preferences keep working. Allow or remove Excel exports, kill developer mode, or block sign-in temporarily without archiving the user.
Assign roles like tags — and they stay assigned
One grid for everyone: type a role next to a user and their rights are rebuilt instantly. A nightly guard re-applies every role, so a “quick manual tweak” someone made on a Friday is gone by Saturday morning. Administrator accounts are structurally untouchable — you can never lock yourself out.
Cashier controls, right in the POS screen
Block discounts, price changes and refunds per role — the numpad buttons grey out for that cashier and refunds show a polite "call a manager". Competitors sell this as a second paid app; here it is included. Fail-open by design: a network hiccup can never stop your tills from selling.
