Key in the receipt — the payment is on file
The customer has the confirmation SMS in their hand and you have nothing in Odoo. Mobile Money → Recover Missed Payment takes the rail, the receipt, the amount, the phone, the till and the date exactly as the confirmation shows them. Hit Recover Payment and it opens the transaction it just wrote — no SQL, no support ticket.
The same receipt can never land twice
Type a receipt that already exists and the wizard stops you cold, naming the transaction that already holds it — its state and its amount. The check runs on the field, again at save, and underneath it all the engine keeps a database-level unique constraint on the receipt. A payment gets recorded once, even if two managers key it at the same moment.
It lands in the one ledger, marked Successful
A recovered inflow is not a side note in a spreadsheet. It lands in the same Mobile Money → Transactions list as every live payment, on every rail, carrying its receipt, phone, amount and a Successful state. Your reconciliation looks at one list and the missed payment is simply in it.
Attributed to the rail it was really paid on
Pick the provider on the wizard and the recovery inherits its rail, currency, company and shortcode — so M-Pesa, MTN MoMo and Airtel Money money never blur together in your reporting. No live connection is needed to recover: the payment already happened, this app is only writing down the receipt you were handed.
Recovered, unclaimed, ready to be matched
The recovered payment is a normal unclaimed collection, guarded by the engine's single-use claim so it can settle exactly one document. Reconcile it against an invoice with Confirm Mobile Money Receipt — that screen ships in the Mobile Money on Invoices app — or claim it at the till with the Mobile Money at the POS app.
Installed and recovering in under five minutes
Install the app — it pulls in the Mobile Money engine on its own. Open Mobile Money → Configuration → Providers and make sure the rail you collect on exists with its country and currency. That is all the wizard needs: no credentials, no callback URL, no sandbox keys, because recovery never calls the network.
Recover Missed Payment sits on the Mobile Money menu and is restricted to your Mobile Money managers — cashiers cannot mint payments. Copy the confirmation across, add a note saying why it was keyed by hand, and press Recover Payment. The recovered transaction opens straight away so you can see exactly what landed.
