Validated Uploads
Only real PDF files are accepted. The module checks both the file extension and the internal PDF magic bytes, rejecting non-PDF uploads with a clear error.
Copies with the Order
When a Sales or Purchase Order is duplicated, all attached PDFs are copied to the new order automatically — no need to re-upload.
Non-Destructive
Existing Odoo chatter attachments and standard workflows are completely untouched. Install and use without changing anything else.
Upload, arrange, and print
Follow these steps to attach PDFs to a Sales Order or Purchase Order and have them merged automatically when the document is printed or previewed.
Upload PDFs & Set Position
Open any Quotation, Sales Order, or Purchase Order and click the PDF Attachments tab.
Click Add a line, enter a description, upload your PDF, and set the position to Before Main PDF or After Main PDF.
Use the drag handle on the left of each row to reorder. The final merge order is: Before attachments → Main document → After attachments.
Print or Preview
Save the order and use the standard Print or Preview buttons as usual.
Odoo automatically merges all attached PDFs into a single combined document in the defined order — no extra steps required.
Customer Portal View
When customers open their order on the customer portal, an Attachments section lists all uploaded PDFs as clickable links.
Each link is secured with the order's access token — only users with the correct portal link can access the files.
Install and start using
No configuration required after installation. The PDF Attachments tab appears automatically on all Sales and Purchase Order forms.
1. Add the module
Copy atliis_sale_purchase_pdf_merge into your Odoo addons path.
2. Update Apps
Restart Odoo with developer mode enabled and update the app list.
3. Install
Search for PDF Merge for Sales & Purchase Orders and install.
4. Use
Open any Quotation, Sales Order, or Purchase Order and go to the PDF Attachments tab.
Common questions
Does this work for both Sales Orders and Purchase Orders?
Yes. The PDF Attachments tab is available on Quotations, Sales Orders, and Purchase Orders. The PDF merge works on all four standard report types: Quotation, Pro-forma Invoice, Purchase Order, and Purchase Quotation.
Can I control the order in which PDFs are merged?
Yes. Use the drag handle on each row to set the sequence. Within each position group (Before/After), files are merged in ascending sequence order.
Are non-PDF files rejected?
Yes. The module validates both the file extension (.pdf) and the internal PDF magic bytes (%PDF header). Non-PDF files are rejected immediately with a descriptive error message.
Is it compatible with document template modules that add header/footer pages?
Yes. For Sales Orders, the module detects header and footer pages added by companion document template modules and inserts the attachments around the main content body, preserving the document structure.
