Secure WhatsApp Login / Sign In for Odoo

The Odoo Login/Sign-In with WhatsApp feature enables users to securely log in, sign up, or reset their password using WhatsApp OTP. After configuring settings in the OTP WhatsApp Configuration menu, users can receive OTPs via WhatsApp for authentication, making the login and account recovery process more convenient and secure.

How it works?

WhatsApp OTP Configuration
  • Set the OTP validity period (in minutes) for delivering OTPs via the WhatsApp application, and select the relevant WhatsApp OTP template. Additionally, enable the Reset Password via WhatsApp feature, as demonstrated in the screenshot.

  • When the user reaches the login screen, they initiate the authentication process by clicking on the “Login / Sign Up with WhatsApp” button.
  • This action begins the WhatsApp-based login or registration flow, allowing the user to authenticate using an OTP sent to their registered WhatsApp number.

  • If the user does not have an existing account, they begin the registration process by clicking the “Don’t have an account?” button.
  • This initiates the WhatsApp-based sign-up flow, enabling the user to authenticate via an OTP sent to their registered WhatsApp number.

Reset Password with OTP
  • If a user forgets their password, they can initiate the recovery process by selecting the “Reset Password via WhatsApp” option on the login screen.
  • The user is prompted to enter their registered WhatsApp number, after which an OTP is sent to their WhatsApp account. Upon entering the OTP on the verification screen, the user is redirected to the reset password page, where they can securely create a new password.

Users who forget their password can initiate a password reset process by receiving a reset link on their registered WhatsApp number.
