Introduction
In Odoo, there is either a private or public calendar. Thus either anyone can see or just the attendees or collaborator.
However, there is a need to show/manage calendars by some people who aren't participating e.g. Assistant, Secretary, Leads & managers.
This module allows to grant visibility or management by role or for specific users.
Configuration
- The General Manager's meetings must be private but there is a need for his assistant to view and manage their meetings.
- There is a need for the sales manager to view the calendar of the sales team but the salespeople don't want everyone to see the meetings.
- Recruitment interviews shall be private however managers need to see what's on the calendar without being as participant.
How it Works
- Login as admin then Go to Settings -> Users and Select a user to set who (by user or by group) is able to manage his private events.
-
There are 2 access levels:
- Read Only: Only view the calendar events.
- Read & Write: View and edit the calendar events.
- To Grant access for a specific person e.g. "your assistant" then just grant it to a single user via filling the "Authorized user"
- To grant to a group e.g. all recruitment you assign to a specific group via filling the "Authorized group".
- Bonus: if you want to assign by sales team, create a dummy group by team and assign users to that team and give access.
- Create public and private events in the calendar.
- Logout and login as the assistant for example.
- Private events are visible in read-only mode and public events are visible normally.
- If the access level is Read & Write, the assistant could view, edit, and delete the private event.
- Logout and login as another user.
- Private events are still private.
