MRP Costing
Manufacturing order and work order costing, reports, quantity update, and inventory valuation. Track planned vs real costs for material, labour, and overhead.
Overview
This module adds full cost analysis on Manufacturing Orders (MO) and Work Orders. It shows total cost, material cost, overhead cost, subcontracting and by-product cost, with a breakdown per work order. You get estimated (planned) and real costs for material, labour, and overhead, plus a Costing Dashboard listing all MOs with planned vs real figures. An Update Product Quantity wizard recalculates components when the quantity to produce changes. Inventory Valuation reports link MOs to material, overhead, and total cost.
Key Features
MO Cost Analysis
Total Cost, Material, Labour, Overhead, Subcontracting and By-Product cost on each Manufacturing Order with estimate vs real.
Costing Dashboard
List and pivot of all MOs with planned and real cost for material, operation, and overhead in one place.
Work Order Costing
Cost, Overhead, Material and Components Used per work order with list view and totals.
Update Quantity Wizard
Change quantity to produce and recalculate component quantities and moves in one step.

- 2. Go to Manufacturing → Reporting → Costing Dashboard to see all MOs with planned and real costs in list or pivot view.
- 3. Use Manufacturing Order Cost and Work Order Cost menus for dedicated list views with cost totals.
- 4. Use Update Product Quantity from the MO to change the quantity to produce and recalculate components.
- 5. Use Inventory Valuation under Reporting to see MO-linked valuation with material, overhead and total cost.
FAQ
Where do estimated (planned) costs come from?
Estimated material cost is from BOM component quantities and product cost; labour from work center cost and expected duration; overhead from BOM overhead lines. They update when the BOM or work orders change.
Where do real costs come from?
Real costs are computed from actual consumption: material from stock moves and product cost, labour from work order duration and work center cost, overhead from costing lines or operations. They are filled as the MO is done and work orders are completed.
What is the Costing Dashboard?
A list (and pivot) view of manufacturing orders showing planned and real cost for material, operation (labour), and overhead. Use it under Manufacturing → Reporting → Costing Dashboard.
What does Update Product Quantity do?
It opens a wizard to change the quantity to produce on the MO. Component quantities and stock moves are recalculated according to the BOM so you can correct or adjust the order before or during production.
