Login as Customer
Connect to any customer's website session directly from their partner record to guide them through the store.
What does this module do?
Login as Customer lets authorized agents open a live website session as any portal customer directly from the Odoo backend. The agent sees the store exactly as the customer does - same cart, same addresses, same prices - and can guide them step by step through checkout or account updates.
Access is controlled per user, so only the agents you authorize can use this feature. A persistent banner reminds the agent they are browsing inside a customer session, and the session closes cleanly when they are done.
Connect as any customer
Open a live portal session as any customer with one click from their partner record in Odoo. No password sharing required.
Real-time store view
See the website exactly as the customer sees it - their cart, saved addresses, loyalty points, and product prices.
Multi-website support
When multiple websites are configured, a selector lets the agent pick which site to open before connecting.
Per-user permissions
Grant the "Connect as Customer" right only to authorized agents. All other internal users cannot access customer sessions.
Visible agent banner
A banner at the top of the browser window reminds the agent at all times that they are in a customer session.

See it in action
The agent clicks Connect as Customer on the partner record, selects a website, and the customer session opens in a dedicated window. The agent can browse, add items to the cart, and complete the order on behalf of the customer.
Connect button on the partner record
The Connect as Customer button appears directly on the customer's partner form in the Odoo backend. Agents do not need to leave their workflow to start a session.
Connecting as a customer
Follow these steps to open a customer session from the Odoo backend.

Enable the feature in Website Settings
Go to Website > Configuration > Settings and scroll to the Tracking & SEO section. Enable Login as Customer for each website where you want to allow agent connections.

Grant permission to agents
Open the internal user record for each agent who should have access. Enable the Connect as Customer option in their security settings. Users without this right will not see the connect button.

Open the customer's partner record
Navigate to Website > eCommerce > Customers (or any contact list) and open the customer you want to assist. Click the Connect as Customer button at the top of the form.

Select the website
A popup appears listing all enabled websites. Select the one you want to connect to and click Connect.

Browse as the customer
A new window opens with the customer's active session. The agent banner is displayed at the top of the page. Browse the store, manage the cart, update addresses, or complete an order on the customer's behalf. Close the window when done - the customer's session is not affected.
Configuration
Step 1 - Enable per website
Go to Website > Configuration > Settings and scroll to the Tracking & SEO section. Toggle Login as Customer on for each website where agents should be able to connect.
Step 2 - Grant access to agents
Open Settings > Users & Companies > Users and edit each agent who should be authorized. Enable the Connect as Customer checkbox in their user profile.
