13-Week Direct Cash Flow Forecast
Rolling 13-week direct cash-flow forecast from open AR/AP, recurring items and scenarios
13-Week Direct Cash Flow Forecast builds a rolling, week-by-week direct cash-flow projection the way treasury teams actually run it: starting from a real opening balance, it buckets every open customer invoice and vendor bill by due date, adds manual and recurring cash items, and rolls the whole thing forward into a 13-week (or any configured horizon) opening/closing balance series, with optional what-if scenarios for collection delay and realization percentage.
Key Features
Automatic AR/AP bucketing
Every open, unreconciled posted customer invoice and vendor bill is pulled straight from account.move.line and bucketed into the week its due date falls into, with already-overdue items landing in week one and beyond-horizon items rolled into the last week so no cash is ever dropped.
Weekly drill-down to source journal items
Each cash.flow.forecast.week keeps a live list of exactly which AR/AP move lines contributed to it, with one click opening the underlying journal item (action_open_drill).
Manual and recurring cash-flow lines
cash.flow.line adds anything the ledger does not yet know about, payroll, rent, loan installments, planned capex, expected new sales, as one-time, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly items with an optional end date, each showing its own projected total across the horizon.
What-if scenario modeling
cash.flow.scenario defines a collection-delay assumption (push receivable inflows out by N days) plus separate realization percentages for receivables and payables, letting a forecast be recomputed under best-case/worst-case assumptions.
Weekly opening/closing balance roll-forward
Each of the 13 (or N) weekly buckets shows opening balance, cash in, cash out, net change and closing balance, computed by rolling the gross weekly in/out series forward from the forecast's opening balance.
Cash-shortfall alerting
A configurable minimum-balance alert threshold flags any week whose projected closing balance falls below it, and marks the whole forecast with a cash-shortfall warning (has_shortfall / shortfall_week_count).
Configurable forecast horizon
The number of weekly buckets to project defaults to 13 but is fully configurable per forecast (horizon_weeks), with the forecast end date computed automatically.
Recompute workflow with chatter audit trail
action_compute rebuilds every weekly bucket from the live ledger and current scenario, posting a one-line summary of the result (shortfall weeks or ending balance) to the forecast's chatter.

Why Choose This Module
Spreadsheet cash-flow forecasts go stale the moment a new invoice posts and rarely survive a scenario question like 'what if customers pay two weeks late.' This module keeps the forecast live against the real ledger, spreads recurring items automatically across the horizon, and lets a scenario's delay and realization assumptions be tested with one recompute, all backed by a framework-free, independently tested bucketing and roll-forward engine.
