ODOO'S FUNCTION
In Odoo, multi-step routes (e.g., 3-step receiving) fail for subcontracted products. This happens because Odoo looks up the receiving rules based on the warehouse recorded on the stock move, which is not always the correct one for subcontracting operations.
CLUEDOO'S FUNCTION
CLuedoo resolves a limitation in Odoo where 3-step inbound routes are not correctly applied to subcontracted products. This module automatically sets the correct destination warehouse on the stock move, ensuring the right receiving steps (such as 3-step receiving) are triggered as expected - with no manual adjustment needed from the user.
CONFIGURATION |
1. Open an existing warehouse or create a new one. Under the Warehouse Configuration tab, set Incoming Shipments to: Receive, Quality Control, then Store (3 steps) It means the product goes through WH/Input → WH/Quality Control → WH/Stock.
Click the Routes button at the top, then open the Receive in 3 steps (input + quality + stock) route > You can see 2 rules in this route |
For the first rule from
WH/Input to WH/ Quality Control
, set as
Automatic No Step Added
For the second rule from WH/ Quality Control to WH/Stock, set as
Manual Operation.
2. Open or create a dedicated subcontracting warehouse. Under Resupply From , check the main warehouse (e.g., Your Company) so it is resupplied from there. |
3. Choose a product and set up the route to Receive in 3 steps |
4. Create a BoM for the finished product. Set BoM Type to Subcontracting , then add the subcontractor in the Subcontractors field (e.g., Azure Interior) . Add the required components under the Components tab. |
5. Go to Contacts , open the subcontractor's record, and navigate to the Sales & Purchase tab. Under the Inventory section, set the Subcontractor Location to the stock location of the subcontracting warehouse (e.g., SUB/Stock) . |
USAGE |
1. Create a new
Purchase Order
with the subcontracted product and set the vendor to the subcontractor defined in the BoM >
Confirm
the order to generate the receipt.
2. Open the generated receipt > Validate > The intermediate location shown here is WH/Quality Control and the Warehouse is YourCompany - this confirms the 3-step route is applied correctly to the subcontracting receipt. |
