ODOO'S FUNCTION

Odoo standard already provides a Project Update feature that allows users to communicate project progress. However, the format is currently hardcoded, meaning the content structure and layout are fixed. This limits flexibility and makes it difficult to adapt the update format to different project needs, reporting styles, or business requirements.

CLUEDOO'S FUNCTION

CLuedoo enhances the existing functionality by introducing flexible HTML-based Project Update Templates. These templates replace the hardcoded format with a configurable structure with dynamic fields. This allows users to define, manage, and select different Project Update Templates depending on their needs.

1. Go to Project > Configuration > Update Templates


You can view the existing Update Templates or click New to create a new one.

Update Templates use dynamic HTML fields.

2. When an Update Template is set on a Project Template , it will be automatically propagated to the created project.


For example,

  • you have a project template named Product Launch Campaign with the Default Update Template is SUMMARY + PROFITABILITY + MILESTONE.

  • creating a project named Investment Project from Template Product Launch Campaign

  • The same Default Update Template ( SUMMARY + PROFITABILITY + MILESTONE ) will be applied automatically


3. When an Update Template is set on a Project , it will be propagated to the Project Updates .


For example,

  • you have a project named Renovations with the Default Update Template is Template 1

  • then creating a project update (e.g., Monthly Review of the Renovations project ) → The Update Template ( Template 1 ) will be automatically applied.


Note that the Update Template on the project update can still be modified if needed.
