Unified Auto-Generation
One module auto-generates lot and serial numbers on incoming receipts, internal transfers, inventory adjustments, manufacturing order completion, and deliveries — replacing several single-workflow apps with one coherent flow.
Hierarchical Sequence Rules
Configure sequence rules at the product, product category, or global level, each with its own prefix, date token, and number padding. Rules resolve with product-first, then category, then global fallback.
Pre-Commit Preview Wizard
The Assign Lot/Serial Numbers wizard lists every number to be generated before the receipt, transfer, or manufacturing order is validated — not after, when labels are already printed.
Rule Attribution in Preview
Every previewed line shows exactly which sequence rule produced it — product-wise, category-wise, or global — so users can trust and audit the result at a glance.
Inline Per-Line Editing
Any single generated number can be corrected directly in the preview table without regenerating the entire batch, saving time on multi-line receipts and manufacturing orders.
Duplicate/Conflict Warnings
The wizard flags any generated number that already exists in the system before the transaction is committed, preventing collisions that go undetected elsewhere.
Expiry Auto-Suggestion
For products with shelf-life data, the wizard automatically suggests an expiry date on every generated lot, with manual override available for exceptions.
Full Audit Trail
Every lot generated by the module records which rule created it and at which level, so compliance and traceability teams can see the origin of any lot number in one click.
Retroactive Lot Assignment
A dedicated wizard assigns generated lot numbers to existing on-hand stock that was originally recorded without lots, closing tracking gaps in historical inventory.

Which Odoo versions and editions are supported?
The module is built on Odoo 19 and depends only on Stock, Manufacturing, and Product Expiry — all Community-edition modules — so it works on both Community and Enterprise.
Does it work with both lot tracking and unique serial numbers?
Yes. The module respects each product's tracking mode — By Lots or By Unique Serial Numbers — and generates the correct numbers for either.
What happens if a generated number already exists?
The preview wizard flags any conflicting number before you apply the batch, so you can edit or regenerate that line before it is ever written to a transaction.
