Every POS note, guaranteed to survive checkout
Reliable line, order, and session notes with structured allergen tags, acknowledgment-gated allergy alerts, and a full staff audit trail — built for restaurants and retail counters alike.
Cashiers and kitchen staff need to attach "no onions," allergy warnings, and gift instructions to an order in seconds — but Odoo's native note tools are thin, and a well-known defect in the restaurant flavor sometimes drops notes before they ever reach the database. Buyers end up stitching together three or four single-purpose note apps and still get no allergy structure, no speed layer, and no proof the note was ever saved.
One module unifies line, order, session, and receipt notes on top of a persistence guarantee: every note synced from the till is re-materialized into a staff-attributed audit record, so it can never silently vanish. Predefined chips, keyboard shortcuts, structured dietary/allergen tags, and acknowledgment-gated allergy alerts turn note-taking into a fast, safe, auditable workflow.
Everything the fragmented note apps leave out
Every capability below is implemented in the module.
Structured Dietary & Allergen Tags
Build a reusable library of note categories — vegan, gluten-free, nut allergy, shellfish — and flag which ones represent a real dietary risk, instead of relying on typed free text.
Predefined Notes, Enriched
Every quick-select note carries a type (line/order), audience, category, keyboard shortcut, and an optional list of relevant products, so only applicable chips ever show up at the till.
Acknowledgment-Gated Allergy Alerts
Adding an allergen-tagged product automatically raises a warning listing every risk category on the order — the cashier must acknowledge it before the sale continues.
Guaranteed Note Persistence
Every order sync re-materializes its line and order notes into a permanent audit record, directly closing the native persistence defect that leaves competitors' notes unreliable.
Staff Attribution & Timestamps
Every audit record captures who wrote the note and when, giving managers a real accountability trail for multi-staff operations and food-safety documentation.
Internal vs. Customer-Facing Notes
Mark every note internal or customer-facing so staff instructions stay off the receipt while greetings, gift instructions, and thank-yous print deterministically.
Note Usage Analytics
Pivot and graph views on the audit trail surface the most-used notes, dietary tags, and allergy patterns across sessions — insight no single-purpose competitor offers.
CRM Customer Note in POS
The customer's own preference note is editable right from the cashier screen and syncs back to their contact record, so allergies and preferences follow them across visits.
Per-POS Toggles & Role Visibility
Enable or disable categories, allergy alerts, and shortcuts per point of sale, and restrict sensitive note visibility to selected staff roles.
How it works
Tag & Build the Library
Create dietary/allergen categories, tag the products that carry them, and build a library of predefined notes with shortcuts.
Capture at Checkout
Cashiers tap a predefined chip or hit a shortcut to attach a line, order, or customer-facing note in a single beat.
Alert & Acknowledge
Allergen-tagged products trigger an automatic warning that the cashier must acknowledge before the sale proceeds.
Review, Print & Analyze
Every note lands in the order's audit trail, customer-facing messages print on the receipt, and managers review usage in pivot/graph analytics.
See it in action
From note categories to allergy-flagged orders, every screen is configured with real demo data.
Manage dietary/allergen categories in one list — each with an allergen flag and a live count of tagged products.
A "Nut Allergy" category configured as allergen-triggering, with every predefined note that references it.
Twelve predefined notes at a glance — type, audience, category, keyboard shortcut, and live usage count.
A note's form view, including the "Relevant Products" list that scopes which chip shows up for which item.
The full note audit trail — every note materialized with its type, audience, staff, and allergen status.
Pivot analytics on note usage — slice by category, template, session, or cashier.
The same analytics as a bar graph, for a quick read on which notes and allergens come up most.
The order form's "Notes & Allergens" tab — a visible allergen banner plus the full audit trail, right where the backend team already looks.
Frequently asked
Does this fix the known Odoo note-persistence bug?
Yes. Every order sync re-materializes its line and order notes into a permanent audit record, so a note attached at the till is guaranteed to be persisted — even in scenarios where the native flow could silently drop it.
Does it work for retail counters as well as restaurants?
Yes. The module depends only on core Point of Sale — no restaurant add-on is required — so notes, categories, and allergy alerts work identically at a retail counter or a restaurant till.
Can customers see internal notes on their receipt?
No. Every note is explicitly marked internal or customer-facing, and only customer-facing notes ever print on the receipt — internal staff instructions stay off it, deterministically.
Do I need Odoo Enterprise?
No. The module depends only on the Community Point of Sale app and installs cleanly without any Enterprise-only modules.
