Product Dimensions: Height, Width & Area/Volume Pricing
by Cerevantix Technologies https://www.cerevantix.com$ 149.00
Price every order by height & width not spreadsheets
Capture height, width, and length on any product, auto-compute area and volume, and drive tiered per-m² or per-m³ pricing straight through to sales, purchase, and invoicing — with live price preview and built-in validation.
Businesses that sell glass, fabric, plywood, foam, or other cut-to-size goods price by area or volume, not by unit count. Odoo has no way to capture height and width, compute area or volume, or turn that measurement into a price — so staff calculate by hand in spreadsheets, then re-type the numbers into quotations, purchase orders, and invoices, risking mispriced quotes and mismatched paperwork.
Add height, width, and length directly on the product, and let the app compute area and volume automatically. Configure a price per square meter or cubic meter, with optional tiered rates and per-axis min/max limits, then let that pricing flow straight through to sales orders, purchase orders, and invoices — with the unit price recalculating live as dimensions are typed.
Everything dimension pricing needs
Every capability below is implemented in the module.
Height, width & length on every product
Add height, width, and length (in meters) to any product template, with per-variant overrides that fall back to the template when left blank.
Automatic area & volume
Area (m²) and volume (m³) are computed and stored automatically the moment dimensions are entered — no manual math, no spreadsheet.
Dimension-driven pricing
Set a price per square meter or per cubic meter on any product, and the app prices each order line from its actual dimensions instead of a flat unit price.
Tiered pricing by measure range
Define banded rates — for example a lower price per square meter above 10 m² — so larger cuts automatically earn a better rate.
Live price preview
Change a height or width on an order line and the unit price recalculates immediately, so staff see the real cost before they save.
Min/max validation with guidance
Set independent minimum and maximum limits per axis. Out-of-range dimensions are blocked with a clear tolerance message instead of failing silently.
Reusable dimension presets
Save common sizes — a standard fabric roll, a 4×8 plywood sheet — as presets and apply them to any product in one click.
Propagation to sales, purchase & invoices
Dimensions and computed area/volume carry through from the sales order to the customer invoice automatically, and appear on purchase order lines too, with matching printed PDFs.
Batch inconsistency dashboard
A dedicated Dimension Review list flags products with pricing enabled but no rate, zero dimensions, or a minimum that exceeds its maximum, so bad configuration never reaches a customer.
How it works
Set dimensions
Enter height, width, and length on the product, or apply a saved preset for a standard size.
Configure pricing & limits
Turn on dimension pricing, choose an area or volume basis, add tiered rates, and set min/max validation limits.
Sell, buy, or invoice
Add the product to a sales order, purchase order, or invoice — dimensions default from the product and the price updates live.
Review & fix
Open the Dimension Review dashboard to spot and correct any product with an inconsistent pricing or validation setup.
See it in action
From product setup to priced sales and purchase orders.
The Products with Dimensions list shows every configured product alongside its computed area and volume.
The Dimensions tab on the product form: height, width, length, computed area/volume, pricing basis, tiered rates, and min/max validation limits in one place.
Reusable Dimension Presets — like a standard fabric roll or a 4×8 plywood sheet — ready to apply to any product in one click.
A preset form capturing a standard 4×8 plywood sheet size for one-click reuse.
The Dimension Review dashboard flags products with inconsistent pricing or validation configuration before they reach a customer.
Sales order lines carry height, width, and length columns, with the unit price computed live from each line's dimensions.
Purchase order lines show the same dimension columns, keeping supplier specs consistent with what was ordered.
Frequently asked
Does this work with product variants?
Yes. Each variant can override height, width, and length independently; when left blank, the variant falls back to the values set on the product template.
Is a website / e-commerce configurator included?
Not in this release. This version focuses on internal sales, purchase, and invoicing workflows; a customer-facing website configurator is not included.
Can I use different pricing rules for different products?
Yes. Pricing basis (area or volume), the per-unit rate, and any tiered bands are all configured per product, so glass, fabric, and plywood can each use their own rules.
What happens if someone enters a size outside the allowed range?
The app blocks the save with a validation error naming the offending dimension and its allowed range, so out-of-tolerance sizes never reach an order or invoice.
