Filter any list by the exact time range you need, in one click
A zero-config time and numeric range picker for every backend search view, plus a personal library of saved named ranges you can reapply instantly.
Every list, kanban and pivot view forces the same daily ritual: open the filter dialog, hunt for the right date field in a long unlabeled dropdown, and rebuild a range you have already built dozens of times before. Native Odoo covers a handful of dates, but reaching a specific window like MTD, QTD or "last 90 days" means guessing field names and retyping dates every session — and once applied, nothing on screen tells you which range is actually in effect.
Search Time Range adds one favorites-menu control to every backend search view. It auto-discovers every searchable date, datetime and numeric field on the current model, offers rolling, calendar and reporting presets in one click, and lets you save any range — including numeric ranges — as a named template you can reapply from anywhere, with a persistent badge showing exactly what is filtered.
Everything a time-range filter should do
Every capability below is implemented in the module.
Upfront field discovery
Every searchable date, datetime and numeric field on the current model is listed with its label and type before you pick anything — no more guessing which field holds the date you need.
Rolling, calendar & reporting presets
One-click Today, Yesterday, Last 7/30/90/365 Days, This Week, This Month, This Year, plus accounting-standard MTD, QTD and YTD windows, each labeled with its exact definition.
Custom date ranges
Pick any explicit from/to window on a date or datetime field whenever a preset does not fit the query you need.
Numeric range filtering
Filter integer, float and monetary fields — amount, quantity, price — by a from/to range, independent of date filtering.
Saved named range templates
Save any range — preset, custom date, or numeric — as a reusable, named template and reapply it in a single click from the favorites menu.
Personal range library
A dedicated Time Ranges app lists every saved range in kanban and list views with color coding, last-used date and use count, so your most-used ranges surface naturally.
One-click apply from anywhere
Apply a saved range from its own form with a dedicated Apply button, which reopens the target model filtered instantly.
Timezone-aware boundaries
Every date and datetime range is computed in the correct timezone, user or server, so "Today" and every preset boundary lines up with the real calendar day.
Per-user privacy, zero configuration
Ranges you save are visible only to you, and the feature is available immediately after install — one Settings screen lets you tune timezone and preset visibility if you want to.
How it works
Open the favorites menu
In any list, kanban or pivot search view, open the standard favorites dropdown to find the new time range control.
Pick a field and a range
Search for the date, datetime or numeric field you want, then choose a preset, a custom range, or a numeric from/to.
Apply and see the badge
The range is applied instantly as a search facet, with a clear label showing exactly what is filtered.
Save it for next time
Name the range once to save it to your personal library, then reapply it in one click whenever you need it again.
See it in action
From the saved-range library to the settings screen — see the whole workflow.
Every saved range appears as a color-coded kanban card, showing the target field, mode and how often it has been used.
Switch to list view for a compact overview of every saved range, its model, field and last-used date.
Open any saved range to review or edit its definition, then apply it directly with the one-click Apply button.
Tune the default timezone boundary and toggle reporting-period presets from a dedicated Settings screen.
Frequently asked
Does this work on any model, or only Sales?
The time and numeric range control appears in the favorites menu of every backend list, kanban and pivot search view, and automatically discovers the searchable date, datetime and numeric fields on whichever model you are viewing.
What is the difference between "Last 7 Days" and "This Week"?
Rolling presets like "Last 7 days" count backward from today regardless of the calendar; calendar presets like "This week" always run Monday through Sunday. Every preset label states which definition it uses so there is no ambiguity.
Can I filter on amount or quantity, not just dates?
Yes. Any searchable integer, float or monetary field can be filtered by a numeric from/to range, using the same control and the same saved-template system as date ranges.
Are saved ranges shared with my team?
No. Saved ranges are private to the user who created them — each person builds their own library without affecting anyone else's search views.
