Warehouse access, perfectly walled off
Confine every user to their own warehouses, stock locations, and operation types — enforced on both what they see and what they can move, managed from one visual matrix without touching raw Odoo security rules.
Out of the box, any user with inventory rights can see every warehouse, pick from any location, and post moves anywhere. Staff scroll through hundreds of irrelevant locations, receipts land in the wrong branch, and one team can view another team's stock.
Assign each user their warehouses, locations, and operation types. Everything outside that scope is hidden from lists and dropdowns, and any move that touches an unpermitted location is blocked with a clear message — all set up from one guided screen.
Control, enforce, and audit access
Every capability below is implemented in the module.
Per-User Warehouses
Assign each user the warehouses they are responsible for. Warehouses outside their scope are hidden everywhere they appear.
Location-Level Scope
Restrict access down to individual stock locations for sub-warehouse separation of zones, bays, and store backrooms.
Operation-Type Permissions
Decide which operation types — receipts, deliveries, internal transfers — each user may run, so a receiving clerk cannot also ship.
Enforced on Moves
Restriction is not view-only. Any receipt, delivery, transfer, or count touching an unpermitted location is blocked at save and at validation.
Auto-Filtered Dropdowns
Location and warehouse selectors show only the user's permitted entries, ending the endless scrolling that plagues large-location warehouses.
Visual Permission Matrix
One grid shows every user's warehouses, locations, and operation types at a glance — audit and correct the whole setup, and edit inline.
Bulk Assignment
Grant or replace warehouse, location, and operation permissions for many users at once, so a rollout takes minutes instead of hours.
Audit Trail
Every change to a user's warehouse, location, or operation access is logged with who changed what, from which value to which, and when.
Hierarchy & Manager Bypass
Grant a parent location and its child locations are covered automatically. An all-access manager role keeps company-wide visibility for those who need it.
How it works
Enable Restriction
Turn on restriction for a user from their Stock Access tab.
Assign Scope
Pick warehouses, locations, and operation types — one user or many.
Work Scoped
Users see and move stock only within their permitted area.
Review & Audit
Verify the whole setup in the matrix and track changes in the audit log.
See it in action
Real screens from the module, captured on Odoo 17.
The Access Matrix: every restricted user with their warehouses, operation types, and locations in one editable grid.
Bulk Assign wizard: add or replace warehouses, operation types, and locations for a group of users in a single action.
The Access Audit Log records every permission change — user, permission, previous and new value, and who made it.
A restricted receiving clerk's Inventory Overview shows only the operations they are allowed to run — here, receipts for their one warehouse.
The same user's Locations list is filtered to their assigned location and its child zones — every other location is hidden.
Frequently asked
Does it block stock moves or only hide data?
Both. Unauthorized warehouses and locations are hidden from lists and dropdowns, and any move whose source or destination is outside the user's scope is rejected at save and at validation with a clear message.
Do I have to edit Odoo record rules by hand?
No. All configuration happens on the user's Stock Access tab, the Access Matrix, and the bulk wizard. The module layers on native Odoo security with record rules for you.
If I grant a parent location, are child locations covered?
Yes. Access to a location automatically extends to all of its child locations, so you manage multi-level warehouses without enumerating every sub-location.
Can managers keep full company-wide access?
Yes. Users in the all-access manager group bypass every restriction and retain company-wide inventory visibility, while restriction applies only to the users you choose.
