Description
Add live stock control to your Point of Sale. This module shows the current on-hand quantity of each storable product directly on the POS product grid, highlights items that are running low, marks out-of-stock products, and can block cashiers from selling more units than are actually available.
All behaviour is configurable per Point of Sale, so you decide exactly how strict the stock control should be for each register.
Key Features
- On-hand stock badge — Every storable product shows its current on-hand quantity right on the POS product grid, computed for the source stock location of the register.
- Low-stock alert — The badge turns red when the quantity falls at or below a configurable minimum, so cashiers spot items running low at a glance.
- Out-of-stock overlay — Products with no stock are clearly marked with an "Out of Stock" overlay on their card.
- Block overselling — Optionally prevent the cashier from validating an order that sells more units of a storable product than are currently available.
- Per-register configuration — Enable the badge, set the alert threshold and toggle the overselling block independently for each Point of Sale.
Installation & Setup
- Download and install the module from Settings → Apps → Third-party modules.
- Enable developer mode if you need advanced configuration.
- Open Point of Sale → Configuration → Point of Sale, select your register and enable the stock options on the Configuration tab.
Usage Instructions
- Go to Point of Sale → Configuration → Point of Sale and open the register you want to configure.
- On the Configuration tab, tick Display Product Stock to show the on-hand badge on the product grid.
- Set Minimum Stock Alert to the level at which the badge should turn red.
- Leave Allow Order When Out Of Stock unchecked to block selling storable products beyond their available quantity; tick it to only display the information without blocking.
- Open a POS session: badges, low-stock colours and out-of-stock overlays appear automatically, and validation is blocked when a line exceeds available stock.
