In many companies a customer is looked after by someone other than the salesperson who closes the deal — a dedicated account manager, a support owner, a service coordinator. Standard Odoo has no place to record that person, so the information lives in spreadsheets or in people's heads, and nobody is sure who to escalate to when a client calls.
Customer Service Executive adds a clear owner to every customer. Assign a Customer Service Executive on the contact, and it flows automatically onto that customer's sales orders. The executive is kept in the loop on each order and receives a notification the moment they are put in charge — so accountability is never in doubt.
- Owner on every contact — assign a Customer Service Executive on any customer so each account has a responsible person.
- Automatic on sales orders — new orders inherit the executive from the customer, with no extra data entry.
- Company inheritance — contacts under a company inherit the executive from the parent, keeping teams consistent.
- Automatic follower & notification — the assigned executive is added as a follower and notified in the order's chatter.
- Clean hand-offs — change the executive and the previous one stops following, while the new one is notified right away.
- Download and install the module from Settings → Apps → Third-party modules.
- The Sales application is required and installs automatically as a dependency.
- Open any customer, go to the Sales & Purchase tab and set the Customer Service Executive. That is all — new sales orders will pick it up automatically.
Assign a Customer Service Executive on each of your customers. When a new sales order is created for that customer, the executive is filled in automatically and added as a follower, receiving a notification that they are now in charge of the order.
Everything stays flexible: you can change the executive on any order at any time. When you do, the previous executive stops following the order and the new one is notified — so responsibility is always clear and every hand-off leaves a trace in the chatter.
