Bring your Odoo notifications to the app everyone actually reads: WhatsApp. Each user can choose to receive notifications by email, in Odoo, by WhatsApp or combined (email + WhatsApp, Odoo + WhatsApp), and your customers can be flagged to get chatter updates directly on their phone.
Every WhatsApp delivery is tracked in the chatter with its own icon and status (sent or failed), exactly like the email envelope, and the full message is stored in the WhatsApp conversation history. You always know what was sent, to whom, and whether it arrived.
It runs on the Candelas WhatsApp Connector module (official Meta Cloud API or Evolution API), using your own numbers.
- Per-user preference â Each user picks how to receive notifications from their Preferences: by email, in Odoo, by WhatsApp, or combined (email + WhatsApp / Odoo + WhatsApp).
- Customer notifications â Enable "Notify by WhatsApp" on any contact and they will receive chatter notifications on WhatsApp in addition to the regular email.
- Full chatter tracking â Every WhatsApp delivery shows up in the message's recipient list with its icon and status, and the text is stored in the contact's WhatsApp conversation.
- Delivery failure alerts â Failed deliveries (missing number, no connector, provider error) appear in the messaging menu just like email failures, with their cause.
- Connector per company â Choose in Settings which WhatsApp connector delivers each company's notifications, with automatic fallback to the first connected connector.
- Your email flow stays intact â It plugs into Odoo's standard notification flow: email and the inbox keep working exactly as before.
- Download and install the module from Settings → Apps → Third-party modules.
- Enable developer mode if you need advanced configuration.
- Requires WhatsApp Connector (cnd_whatsapp_connector) with at least one connected connector. In Settings → WhatsApp → Notifications pick the connector that will deliver the notifications. Note: with Meta Cloud API, messages outside the 24-hour customer service window are registered as failed (Meta requires approved templates); Evolution API has no such restriction.
Internal users: in User Preferences → Notification choose "By WhatsApp" (WhatsApp only), "By Emails + WhatsApp" or "In Odoo + WhatsApp". The user needs a valid phone number on their contact.
Customers: open the contact and enable Notify by WhatsApp (next to the phone). From then on, whenever they are notified in a document's chatter (quotation, invoice, deliveryâ¦), they also get the message on WhatsApp.
Tracking: on every chatter message, the WhatsApp icon next to the recipients shows the delivery status. Failures are grouped in the messaging menu with their cause (missing number, no connector, provider error).
