Customer Inbox — Central Reply Hub

One central inbox for every incoming customer email reply — no matter which document the customer answered. Never lose a reply in the notification stream again.

The problem

Customers reply to the invoice, the delivery note, the order confirmation… In standard Odoo those replies land in each document's chatter and drown between system notifications. There is no single place to see them — and replies get missed.

The solution

Customer Inbox collects every incoming customer email — across invoices, deliveries, sale orders, leads, POS orders and more — into one central, cross-model queue with a clean triage workflow and a live badge.

Key features

One central queue

All incoming customer mails across every document in a single list — nothing scattered, nothing lost.

Triage workflow

Open / Assigned to me / Done, with an assignee per message. Mark handled so nothing slips through.

Live systray badge

A counter in the top bar updates in real time (via the bus) the moment a new customer mail arrives.

One-click to the document

Jump straight to the original invoice / order / delivery and its chatter to reply in context.

Customer-only

Vendor and internal mail is filtered out — the queue stays focused on real customer replies.

Dedicated access group

A separate security group lets the admin decide exactly who can see the inbox.

How it works

When a customer replies to an Odoo email, Odoo routes the reply onto the original document. Customer Inbox reads exactly these messages and aggregates them, so no mail-server reconfiguration is required, and it works retroactively: existing past customer mails appear immediately after installation.

Install → assign the "Customer Inbox User" group → open the Inbox app. Done.
