Catch weight is a parallel unit of measure used to manage variable-weight products where the actual weight differs from the standard unit. It's essential for businesses dealing with products like meat, seafood, produce, and dairy where each item's weight varies naturally, ensuring accurate inventory tracking and pricing.

Simply check the "Catch Weight Product" checkbox in the product form. Once enabled, you can define the Catch Weight UOM alongside Odoo's default unit of measure, and set an average catch weight quantity for inventory calculations.

Yes, when you select a catch weight product in transfers (receipts or deliveries), the CW-UOM and CW-Demand fields will automatically appear. This allows you to track both the standard quantity and the actual catch weight throughout all stock movements.
