POS Keyboard Shortcuts in Odoo
The POS Keyboard Shortcuts module is designed to significantly enhance the efficiency of your Point of Sale operations by enabling quick keyboard-driven navigation and actions. This module allows cashiers to perform common tasks such as processing payments, selecting customers, navigating order lines, and switching numpad modes entirely through customizable Alt+key combinations. By reducing the reliance on the mouse or touch screen, it speeds up the checkout process, minimizes manual errors, and provides a smoother workflow for high-volume retail and restaurant environments.

Enable Keyboard Shortcuts
Navigate to Point of Sale > Configuration > Settings. Locate and check the "Keyboard Shortcuts" option to activate the feature for your POS session.
Accelerate the Product Screen
Use Alt+Q, Alt+D, or Alt+R to instantly switch your numpad between Quantity, Discount, and Price modes without ever reaching for your mouse or touch screen.
Seamless Order Line Navigation
Effortlessly browse through order lines using Alt+↑ and Alt+↓. To remove a mistakenly added item, simply press Alt+Backspace to delete the selected line.
Rapid Payment Processing
Press Alt+P to go directly to the payment screen. Once the payment details are entered, hit Alt+V to validate the transaction instantly and move to the next customer.
On-Demand Shortcut Reference
Can't remember a shortcut? Simply press Alt+H at any time within the POS interface to bring up a helpful reference dialog listing all available key combinations for your current screen.
