POS Margin Display in Odoo
The POS Margin Display module for Odoo brings real-time profit transparency to your retail operations. While Odoo computes margins on the backend, this module surface that critical data directly to your cashiers and managers during the sale. It displays cost prices, profit margins, and margin percentages on every order line, in the total summary, and optionally on printed receipts. With color-coded badges and instant updates as quantities change, it empowers your team to make informed pricing decisions and monitor profitability without ever leaving the POS interface.

- Real-Time Line Margin Badges: Every item in the cart displays a color-coded margin badge showing profit/loss and percentage.
- Order Summary Margin Totals: View the total cost and combined margin for the entire order directly below the subtotal.
- Color-Coded Profit Visibility: Instant visual cues with Green (Profit), Red (Loss), and Yellow (Zero Margin) indicators.
- Margin on Printed Receipt: Optionally print total cost and margin on customer or internal receipts for better audit trails.
- Enhanced Backend Reporting: Standard Odoo POS reports are extended with margin columns and measures for deep analytics.
Enable Real-Time Margin Visibility
Navigate to Point of Sale > Configuration > Settings and locate the POS Margin section. Enable Show Margin on Orderlines to activate color-coded profit badges in the cart.
Control Margin Printing on Receipts
In the same settings menu, you can toggle Show Margin on Receipt. This allows you to include total cost and margin data on the printed customer ticket or internal record.
Instant Profit Visibility in the Cart
As items are added, the system automatically calculates the margin based on the product cost. Green badges indicate profit, while red badges highlight potential losses or low-margin items.
Order Total & Overall Margin Summary
Below the order total, the module displays a comprehensive summary of the Total Cost and Total Margin percentage for the entire transaction, aiding in discount negotiations.
