Enable Partial Payment in POS

Navigate to Point of Sale > Configuration > Settings. Locate the "Partial Payment" section to enable the feature and select the "Partial Payment Method" (e.g., Customer Account) used for tracking unsettled amounts.

Customer Credit Configuration

On the customer form under the "Sales & Purchase" tab, enable "Allow POS Credit" and set a "POS Credit Limit". The "POS Total Due" field displays the current outstanding balance.

Process Partial Payment in POS

In the POS payment screen, click the "Partial Pay" button to record a partial payment. A confirmation popup will appear to record the remaining amount as a due balance for the customer.

Enhanced POS Receipt

The printed POS receipt clearly displays the total order amount, the payment methods used, and specifically highlights the "AMOUNT DUE" to be paid later by the customer.

Track Payments on POS Orders

In the backend POS order view, the "Payments" tab provides a full breakdown of all payment transactions, including the amount tracked against the customer's account.

Partial Payment Information

The "Extra Info" tab on the POS order details if it was a partial payment and displays the total "Amount Due" remaining for that specific transaction.

Accounting Integration

Invoices are automatically marked with a "PARTIAL" status ribbon in Odoo Accounting, with the outstanding balance clearly visible and tracked for future reconciliation.

Credit Limit Enforcement

The module ensures financial safety by monitoring customer credit in real-time. If a partial payment causes the customer to exceed their predefined "POS Credit Limit", a warning popup will appear, preventing the cashier from validating the order until the balance is addressed.
