The Lot/Serial POS module for regulated retail
For shops that track stock by Lot/Serial — electronics, pharmacy, food, cosmetics, spare parts — the barcode on the box is the Lot/Serial number, not a product barcode. Out of the box, scanning it at the Point of Sale finds nothing and the cashier searches by hand.
This module turns any Lot/Serial scan into the right order line. The POS first tries the code as a product barcode; if there is no match it resolves it as a Lot/Serial Number — matching the name, internal reference or a scanned prefix — and adds the linked product with the lot pre-filled. It understands GS1 barcodes (product + lot + expiry in one scan), guards against selling out-of-stock, expired or duplicate-serial items, auto-picks by FEFO or most stock, and records every sold lot for full traceability — all behind simple per-POS settings, so default behaviour never changes.

GS1 One-Scan
A GS1 barcode carries product + lot/serial (+ expiry) in one scan. When the GTIN isn't a POS product, the embedded lot still resolves it.
Smart & Flexible Matching
Product barcode first, then Lot/Serial. Match the lot name, its internal reference, or a scanned prefix — and limit to chosen product categories.
Multi-Match Picker & FEFO
Several lots for one code? Show a searchable picker, or auto-pick the first to expire (FEFO) or the most in-stock — your choice per POS.
Stock-Availability Guard
Availability is measured at this POS's own location. Warn — or fully block — when a scanned lot has no stock to sell.
Expiry Awareness
See expiry dates in the picker and warn or block expired lots — essential for pharmacy, food and cosmetics. (Soft Expiration-Dates dependency.)
Duplicate-Serial Prevention
A unique serial can't be added twice to the same order — no accidental double-sale of one-of-a-kind stock.
Instant Counter Feedback
A success beep + "Added · Lot X" toast on every add, and an error sound when a scan is blocked — fast, confident checkout.
Lot/Serial Sales Traceability
A dedicated report (list / pivot / graph) of every Lot/Serial sold — trace which unit went to which customer, and when.
