What This Module Does

Design every line of your POS receipt without touching a line of code. Drop blocks onto a canvas, tweak alignment / format / prefixes from a properties panel, and watch the live preview update instantly using the real POS receipt renderer. Assign one template per POS configuration, plus a fallback default — and gracefully revert to the standard receipt whenever no template applies.

How To Use

From install to printed receipt in three drag-and-drop steps.

1. Open the Designer

Go to Point of Sale → Configuration → Receipt Templates and click New, or open the designer from your POS config.

2. Drag, Drop & Tune

Pull blocks from the palette onto the canvas, reorder them, and adjust alignment / format / labels in the properties panel — preview updates live.

3. Assign & Print

Assign the template to a POS configuration (or set it as the default fallback), launch the session, and your custom receipt prints from the very next order.

Why It Matters

Highlights

No more XML / QWeb edits for receipt changes

Marketing wants a new footer slogan? Legal needs a tax notice line? A franchise needs its own logo? Drag, drop, save — done. The designer replaces the cycle of editing QWeb templates, bumping module versions, and redeploying.

Same renderer in editor and POS

Both surfaces share one OWL component — `pos_receipt_designer/static/src/js/dynamic_receipt.js`. Edits show up in the live preview identically to how they print at the till.

One template per POS configuration

Multi-location? Each shop / register / restaurant can pin its own receipt template via the POS config, with a global default for everything else. No conditional templates, no per-shop forks.

Graceful fallback

Template missing or disabled? The POS reverts to the standard Odoo receipt automatically. The till never gets stuck because of a layout problem.
