Odoo Dynamic Configurator (CPQ)
The Dynamic Product Configurator allows sales teams to build custom product configurations directly from sales orders. Enable configuration on any product, define components with min/max quantities, mark optional items, and choose between Manufacture or Kit BOM types. The popup configurator lets users select templates, pick variants, and add configured products to sales order lines instantly — with full price list integration ensuring correct pricing based on customer segments, quantities, and selected variants. On order confirmation, the system automatically creates Manufacturing Orders for manufactured products or Delivery Orders for kits.

How It Works
Follow these simple steps to configure complex products
Configuration Setup
- Go to Apps → Install "Dynamic Product Configurator"
- Open product → Configure route "Replenish on Order (MTO)"
- Check the box "CPQ Product" to enable configuration
Product Configuration
- Go to the CPQ Configuration tab on Product
- Select default BoM Type (Manufacture / Kit)
- Configure products with min/max/default quantities and optional flag
Sales Order
- Create a new Sales Order
- Click on "Add CPQ Product" button
- Custom product pop-up will open
Custom Product Selection
- Select CPQ Product Template
- View configured products with prices (as per price list)
- Select variant-wise products and quantities
- Add optional products if needed
- Click "Confirm All Configuration"
Review & Confirm Order
- Configured products appear as separate sales order lines and BoM will be created based on configured product.
- If BoM with same component with same quantity exist system will pick existing BoM that will be used for kit order or manufacturing order.
- Confirm the sales order → Auto-creates:
- Manufacturing Orders (for Manufacture type)
- Delivery Orders (for Kit type)
- Purchase Orders (if child product has route "Buy" or "Make to Order")
- Route Configuration: Child products with "Buy" or "Make to Order (MTO)" route will automatically generate Purchase Orders on confirmation.
