Kitchen Display Self-Order
Connect self-order kiosks and mobile orders to the ERP Heritage Kitchen Display: confirmed orders route straight to the kitchen, an order in preparation can no longer be cancelled, and a kiosk out of paper raises an alert.
Why this module
Kiosk to kitchen, with guard rails.
Kiosk straight to kitchen
A confirmed kiosk or mobile order lands on the right board and lane immediately, on the same routing as a till order.
No cancel once cooking
When an order is already being prepared, the kiosk can no longer cancel it, so the kitchen never makes food for a vanished order.
Paper-out alert
A kiosk printer out of paper raises a clear alert banner on the kitchen board so a staffer can fix it fast.
Day in the life
A busy counter, half self-serve.
Customers order at the kiosk. Each confirmed order routes to the kitchen exactly like a till order, with its stand number. A customer tries to cancel after the food has started; the kiosk politely refuses. When the kiosk roll runs low, the kitchen board flags it before any receipt is missed.
Edge cases
The cases most modules quietly ignore.
In the shipped code today, each one a place where a cheaper module silently does the wrong thing.
A cancel attempt after the kitchen has started is blocked, so prepared food is never wasted on a cancelled order.
A kiosk out of paper surfaces on the board, not just at the kiosk, so the team notices.
What is inside
Built to do the job, end to end.
- Self-order intake. Kiosk and mobile orders route on confirm, paid online or settled at the counter.
- Cancel lock. An order with active kitchen cards cannot be cancelled.
- Paper status. A token guarded report flags a kiosk printer out of paper on the board.
Honest about the edges
What this does not do, so nothing surprises you.
- Requires the free Kitchen Display Core and Kitchen Display modules.
- Built on the Odoo 19 Community self-order app, so it targets Odoo 19.
- Paper status is reported by your kiosk integration; this surfaces it on the board.
