WHY THIS ONE
Not just an upload button
Stream links that belong to one learner Every stream URL is signed over the lesson, a deadline and the viewer. The identity is never carried in the URL - it is recovered from the session on each request, so it cannot be edited. Forward the link and the server answers 404 before a single byte is read. Seeking still works via range requests, playback is inline, download control removed, right-click blocked. |
Deters screen recording A softly visible watermark with the learner's own email moves around the frame - the deterrent professional course platforms use, because leaked copies become traceable. Toggle it in Settings. |
Completion you can defend The player records which seconds were actually played, not how far the scrubber travelled - dragging to the end scores a few percent, not a hundred. Progress accumulates across sessions and devices, playback resumes where the learner stopped, and the sidebar tick and course progress bar update live without a reload. |
Upload from anywhere - even the website Upload on the backend lesson form next to the YouTube URL field, or straight from the course page's Add Content dialog - it gains an "Upload from Device / Use External Link" choice. Lesson duration fills automatically from the file, and both the course page and the fullscreen player play it natively. No new menus to learn. |

Upload straight from the course page - the Add Content dialog gains an Upload from Device option with a file chooser, next to the usual external links.
The protected fullscreen player: seek and playback controls, the viewer's identity drifting as a soft watermark, and the lesson ticked complete once the watch threshold is crossed.
Backend flow: the lesson form gets an Upload your file field beside the Video Link - duration fills automatically from the file.
Your rules in Settings: upload size limit, completion threshold, stream link validity, the default for public embedding, and the watermark toggle.
GOOD TO KNOW
The watermark, download controls and viewer-bound links strongly deter casual copying and keep leaks traceable, but no browser technology can fully prevent screen recording, and a learner can always re-open their own lesson to obtain a fresh link. Lessons marked Allow Public Embed are deliberately reachable without logging in, so their stream links are not tied to an individual. Very large files depend on your hosting's request size limits - a chunked uploader and a CDN streaming connector are on the roadmap.
