Documents PDF Merge
Makes the Odoo Documents PDF split/merge tool non-destructive: split or merged output is always created as new documents and the original source files are never archived or replaced. When you leave the tool, it offers to gather any remaining pages into a single named PDF instead of silently discarding them.
Makes the Odoo Documents PDF split/merge tool non-destructive: split or merged output is always created as new documents and the original source files are never archived or replaced. When you leave the tool, it offers to gather any remaining pages into a single named PDF instead of silently discarding them. Requires Odoo Enterprise — this module patches the Enterprise documents PDF manager and does not install on Community.
Features
- Source documents are always kept — split/merge produces new documents, originals stay untouched.
- Exit prompt offers to collect leftover pages into one named PDF, with a rename prompt, rather than dropping them.
- Pure JavaScript patch on the Enterprise Documents PDF manager component — no new models or schema changes; uninstalls cleanly.
Configuration
1. Install the module (Enterprise documents required). 2. No settings — select PDFs in Documents and use the built-in split/merge tool; the new behavior applies automatically.
Limitations
- This overrides private methods of the Enterprise Documents PDF manager, so it is validated against a specific Enterprise build (Odoo 19.0). Re-verify after Enterprise updates that touch the PDF manager.
Tests
2 automated tests, run on Odoo.sh staging (Enterprise dependency; not runnable on the Community lab).
Screenshots: TODO (capture from staging).
