Most organisations take backups but never test them; an untested backup is a hope, not a control.

Why Choose This Module
Backup jobs -- schedule a database dump (and optional filestore) on a cron cadence, targeting the customer's own EU-region storage profile (local path, S3-compatible bucket, SFTP). Credentials are BYOK and the storage region is recorded and checked against an EU-region allow-list. Backup runs -- each execution records size, duration, SHA-256 checksum and storage location, with a draft -> running -> done/failed state flow and a retention policy that prunes old runs (GFS-style keep rules). Restore-test -- the heart of the module: it re-reads a finished backup, validates the dump structure, recomputes and compares the checksum, optionally performs a real test-restore into a scratch database via the customer's own tooling, and produces a pass/fail restore-test report with RPO/RTO metrics. Verification report & alerts -- a compliance dashboard shows last good backup, last successful restore-test, oldest untested backup and EU-region conformity; overdue verifications raise an alert.
