Login As Another User
Login and Impersonate Another User
Login As Another User
When users report issues, administrators often need to see exactly what the user sees in order to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. Login As Another User allows authorized administrators to temporarily access another user's account without knowing or changing their password, making support, testing, and troubleshooting significantly faster.
Purpose of the "Login As Another User" Module
- Log In as Any Authorized User: Instantly access another user's account directly from Odoo without requiring their password.
- Troubleshoot Issues Faster: Experience the system exactly as the user sees it, making it easier to identify and resolve reported problems.
- Simplify User Support: Assist users more effectively by accessing their environment, permissions, menus, and workflows firsthand.
- Test User Permissions: Verify roles, access rights, and security settings by viewing the system from the user's perspective.
- Seamless User Switching: Move between user accounts without repeatedly logging out and back in.
- Clear Impersonation Indicator: The system clearly shows when you are operating as another user, helping prevent confusion during support sessions.
- Return to Your Original Session: Easily switch back to your own account once support or testing activities are complete.
- Secure and Controlled Access: Impersonation functionality can be restricted to specific administrator or support groups, ensuring proper control and accountability.
