Countries not allowed in the shipping method
Block specific countries from using a shipping method - restricts carriers in sales orders, eCommerce checkout, and all delivery flows automatically.
What does this module do?
Countries not allowed in the shipping method adds a Countries Not Allowed field to every shipping method (carrier) in Odoo. When a delivery address belongs to a blocked country, that carrier is automatically hidden or unavailable - in sales orders, the website checkout, and any other delivery flow that evaluates carrier availability.
This is the complement to Odoo's built-in Countries allowlist: instead of listing every country that is allowed, you list only the ones that are not allowed. Perfect when you ship worldwide except for a handful of restricted destinations.
Country-level restrictions
Define a list of blocked countries directly on each shipping method. Any delivery address matching a blocked country will not be offered that carrier.
Works across all delivery flows
Restrictions apply consistently in sales orders, eCommerce checkout, and any other part of Odoo that computes available carriers for a delivery address.
Easy configuration
A single multi-select field on the carrier form. No coding, no domain filters to write - just pick the countries to block and save.
Complements the allowlist
Works alongside the existing Countries field. Use the allowlist for small coverage zones and the blocklist when you ship globally with only a few exceptions.
Community, Enterprise and Odoo.sh
Compatible with all Odoo deployment types: on-premise community, enterprise, and Odoo.sh cloud hosting.
Multi-language support
The module interface is translated into multiple languages so your team can work in their preferred language.
How to block countries in a shipping method
Follow these steps to restrict one or more countries from using a specific carrier.
-
Open the shipping method
Go to Inventory > Configuration > Delivery Methods (or Sales > Configuration > Delivery Methods) and open the carrier you want to restrict.
-
Locate the Countries Not Allowed field
In the carrier form, scroll to the destination section. A new Countries Not Allowed field appears below the standard Countries allowlist field.
-
Add the countries to block
Click inside the Countries Not Allowed field and select one or more countries from the dropdown. You can add as many countries as needed.
-
Save
Click Save. The restriction takes effect immediately. Any sales order or checkout with a delivery address in one of the blocked countries will no longer show this carrier as an option.
Configuration
This module requires no global settings. All configuration is done directly on each shipping method (carrier) form.
Where to find the setting
Navigate to Inventory > Configuration > Delivery Methods and open any carrier. The Countries Not Allowed field is available on the carrier form next to the destination country settings.
Dependencies
This module depends only on the Delivery module, which is included in all standard Odoo installations.
Compatibility
- Odoo Community (on-premise)
- Odoo Enterprise (on-premise)
- Odoo.sh (cloud)
