Label Printing
Printing product labels with the module is simple, convenient, and flexible.
By following the print wizard, you can select products and a label template,
adjust print settings according to your current task, and print the labels â
all in just a few easy steps.
Preview Data
In the General Settings under the Custom Labels section, configure
the parameters that display in the label template preview within the print wizard.
Select either a demo or a real product, as well as the pricelists. After entering
the data, save the settings by clicking Save button.
To make sample labels more informative, select a product with a barcode.
Template Management
To manage label templates, open the print wizard and click Actions - Label Templates.
Templates can also be managed in developer mode by navigating to
Settings - Technical - Reporting - Label Templates.
The template list briefly displays the main features of each template and allows
deactivating templates to prevent labels from being printed based on them.
Deactivated templates are archived and become unavailable for selection.
Creating a New Template
To add a new label template from scratch, click New Label in the print
wizard and fill in the Add New Label Template window.
- Select the label type
- In the Label section, set the label width and height in millimeters
- In the Page section, choose the Paper Format
- In the Layout section, leave one column and one row for a single label per page, or define how many columns and rows of labels to place for multiple labels on a page
- If the template is for printing multiple labels on a custom-size sheet, specify the page width and height in millimeters along with the spacing between labels
Prepare a sheet designed for your thermal printer and a measuring tool (ideally
a metric caliper) to set the correct label dimensions and page layout.
- Click Create Template to open the new template form, where you can further adjust its properties and design the sections.
All template settings can be modified later.
Sections
A label template consists of sections that define how product information and
other elements are placed and formatted on the label. You can think of sections
as consecutive rows of the label, although each row can be further divided into
smaller sections.
- Sections can contain fixed text, images, field values from models, and more.
- They can be styled with advanced text formatting, padding, fields, borders, and background colors. For text content, translations can be set, and some special elements support automatic formatting.
User Settings
For each user, you can restrict the list of available templates and assign a
default template. To do this, open the user form, go to the Preferences tab,
and fill in the Custom Labels section:
- Select the Default Template â this template becomes the userâs preselected option in the print wizard.
- To limit the template selection for the current user in the print wizard, add Allowed Templates.
Template restrictions do not apply to system administrators.
