VAT/Company-Number Valida
Validate EU/UK VAT (VIES/HMRC) and Companies House numbers with your own API keys (BYOK)
Invalid VAT and company registration numbers cause rejected returns, blocked reverse-charge and failed invoices. This module validates partner tax identifiers against the official public services using your own credentials — Bring Your Own Keys, no accreditation, no middleman. The module talks straight to VIES, HMRC and Companies House from your server.
Key Features
Local Format Check
Regex and check-digit validation for 60+ country VAT number formats runs first, catching typos and bad numbers before any network call.
VIES & HMRC Lookup
EU VIES SOAP and UK HMRC VAT checking API lookups confirm validity and echo back the official trading name and address.
Companies House
UK company-number lookup returns active status, company type and incorporation date using your own Companies House REST key.
Audit-Ready Proof
Every validation is logged with the queried value, returned name and address and a consultation number — legally useful evidence that you checked.
Inline & Bulk
A validation button on the partner form plus a "Validate selected" wizard for mass-checking customers and vendors in one pass.
Warn or Block
Configure enforcement per company: warn only, or block invoicing when a partner carries an invalid VAT or company number.
No Accreditation
BYOK means you use your own HMRC and Companies House access. We never hold a licence or see your data — the lookups run from your server.
Clean VAT Data
Catch invalid identifiers at the source, keep an audit trail, and protect reverse-charge and cross-border invoicing from rejection.
