Odoo compatibility

This module is developed and tested for Odoo 16.0, 17.0, 18.0 and 19.0 Community, each published as its own dedicated Git branch.

Getting started: connect your Google account

Go to Google Business > Configuration > Google Accounts and create a new account record with your Google Cloud OAuth Client ID, Client Secret and Redirect URI (you must first enable the Business Profile APIs in your Google Cloud project and configure the OAuth consent screen). Then click Connect Google Account to start the OAuth flow, and Import Locations to pull in your Business Profile locations.

Managing your locations

Once an account is connected, every imported location appears under Google Business > Locations with its verification state, publication state and sync state. Open a location to see its address, categories, related reviews, posts and media, and to trigger a manual Pull from Google, Push to Google, Sync Reviews or Sync Insights.

Replying to reviews

Open Google Business > Reviews to see every review with its sentiment and urgency automatically flagged. Open a review to draft a reply — optionally starting from a reply template — and send it once you are satisfied; every reply is reviewed by a human before it reaches Google.

Posts, media and automatic synchronization

Create local posts (offers, events, product updates) from Google Business > Posts and either publish them immediately or schedule them — a scheduled job publishes due posts automatically. Photos and other media uploaded to a location are tracked under Google Business > Media with their publication status. Configure the built-in scheduled actions (Settings > Technical > Scheduled Actions) to control how often accounts, locations, reviews and insights are synchronized.

Google My Business Connector

This document describes how to set up and use the Google My Business Connector module.

Prerequisites

Before connecting Odoo, you need a Google Cloud project with the Business Profile APIs enabled:

  1. Create a project in the Google Cloud Console.
  2. Enable the following APIs: My Business Account Management API, My Business Business Information API, My Business API, and Business Profile Performance API.
  3. Configure the OAuth consent screen and create an OAuth 2.0 Client ID (application type: Web application).
  4. Add your Odoo instance's OAuth redirect URL to the list of authorized redirect URIs.
  5. Note the generated Client ID and Client Secret.

Connecting a Google account

  1. Go to Google Business > Configuration > Google Accounts.
  2. Click New and fill in the account name, your Google Client ID, Client Secret and redirect URI.
  3. Save the record, then click Connect Google Account to start the OAuth flow and authorize Odoo against your Google account.
  4. Once connected, click Import Locations to pull in every Business Profile location associated with that account.

Managing locations

Every imported location appears under Google Business > Locations with its verification state, publication state and sync state. Open a location to see its address, categories, and related reviews, posts and media. From the location form you can trigger:

  • Pull from Google — refresh the location's data from Google.
  • Push to Google — send local changes back to Google.
  • Sync Reviews — fetch the latest reviews for this location.
  • Sync Insights — fetch the latest performance statistics.

Replying to reviews

Open Google Business > Reviews to see every review, with sentiment (positive / neutral / negative) and urgency automatically flagged. Open a review to draft a reply — optionally starting from a reusable reply template under Configuration > Reply Templates — then send it once you are satisfied. Every reply is reviewed by a human before it reaches Google; nothing is sent automatically.

Posts and media

Create local posts (offers, events, product updates) from Google Business > Posts. Posts can be published immediately or scheduled for a future date; a scheduled job publishes due posts automatically. Photos and other media uploaded to a location are tracked under Google Business > Media, along with their upload and publication status.

Dashboard

The Dashboard menu gives a live, filterable overview across all connected locations: review statistics, traffic sources, engagement analytics, recent reviews, scheduled posts, sync status and API alerts. Filter by company, location and time period, or switch to a per-location breakdown.

Automatic synchronization

The module ships with scheduled actions (Settings > Technical > Scheduled Actions) that keep data up to date automatically:

  • Test and sync connected accounts
  • Sync locations from Google
  • Sync reviews
  • Sync performance insights
  • Publish scheduled posts
  • Refresh expiring OAuth tokens
  • Clean up old API logs

Each job's frequency can be adjusted from the Scheduled Actions screen.

Troubleshooting

Every API call made by the module is logged under Google Business > API Logs, including the endpoint, HTTP method, status and any error message returned by Google. Check this log first if a location, review or post fails to synchronize.
