Many2one Open Disable
Control record navigation and improve data security in Odoo by managing access to related records.
Normally, Odoo allows users to open linked records from Many2one fields using the “Open Record” option.
In some cases, this can show extra or sensitive information to users. This module lets administrators
disable the Open Record external link for all Many2one fields across the system. This ensures users can
only see allowed information. By blocking direct access to related records, it improves data security,
reduces unwanted access, and helps users stay focused on their work.
2. Configuration
Select the models and fields (Many2one or Many2many) that you want to restrict. It works with any Odoo model in just a few clicks.
3. Field Navigation Control
You can clearly see the change. In standard Odoo, the “Open Record” link is visible (Before), and after configuration, it is hidden (After).

4. User Access Control
You can still allow some users to bypass the restriction. Add them to the allowed list so they can open records normally.

Navigation to related records is blocked for restricted users. Allowed users can still access records normally.

This also works inside One2many lists and sub-forms. It helps protect order lines, stock moves, and invoice lines.
