GoCardless Payment Provider
Integrates your Odoo eCommerce and invoicing system with GoCardless, a leading global network for Direct Debit payments. This app enables you to securely collect one-off and recurring payments directly from your customers' bank accounts.
With seamless integration into Odoo's checkout and accounting workflows, the module automatically confirms orders, records transactions, and simplifies reconciliation. It supports secure mandate creation, a smooth customer checkout experience, and reliable transaction management—making it ideal for businesses that want a recurring payment solution within Odoo.
1. Generate Access Token
Navigate to the API Settings in your GoCardless dashboard and create a new access token with "Read-write" scope to allow Odoo to communicate with the API.
2. Configure Webhook Endpoint
Under API Settings, set up a new webhook endpoint by entering your Odoo notification URL, ending with "/payment/gocardless/webhook".
3. Activate GoCardless Provider
In your Odoo instance, go to Payment Providers and click "Activate" on the GoCardless module to start the configuration.
4. Configure API Credentials
Enter your GoCardless Access Token and Webhook Secret. You can also enable the refund feature to handle reversals directly from Odoo.
5. Shop for Products
Customers can browse your Odoo eCommerce store and select products they wish to purchase.
6. Add to Cart & Checkout
Once a product is selected, customers can add it to their cart and proceed to the checkout process.
7. Review Order Summary
Customers review their order details, quantities, and totals before continuing to the next step.
8. Shipping & Billing Address
Provide accurate delivery and billing information to ensure correct mandate creation and invoicing.
9. Select GoCardless Payment
Select "GoCardless" as the preferred payment method and click "Pay Now" to be redirected to the secure GoCardless portal.
10. GoCardless Checkout Experience
Customers enter their personal and billing details on the GoCardless hosted page to set up their Direct Debit.
11. Bank Selection (Sandbox)
In test mode, select "Success Bank" to simulate a successful authorization and test the payment flow end-to-end.
12. Review & Confirm Payment
Review the mandate details and authorize the Direct Debit payment to complete the setup.
13. Authorize Direct Debit
Scan the QR code or use the manual web login to securely authorize the payment through your bank.
14. Payment Setup Successful
A confirmation screen confirms that the Direct Debit setup was successful and redirects the customer back to Odoo.
15. Odoo Order Confirmation
The customer returns to Odoo and sees a "Thank You" message with their confirmed order details.
16. GoCardless Merchant Dashboard
Track all transactions, including one-off payments and refunds, directly from the GoCardless dashboard for complete visibility.
17. Odoo Backend Transaction
View the payment transaction record in Odoo, which is automatically updated as "Confirmed" upon receiving the webhook.
18. Manage Refunds in Odoo
Initiate refunds directly from the payment record in Odoo, providing a seamless experience for managing returns.
19. Refund Processing Wizard
Use the simple refund wizard to specify the amount to be returned to the customer's bank account.
20. Automated Status Tracking
Odoo logs all refund activities and status updates in the chatter, ensuring full transparency for your team.
21. Transaction Lifecycle Management
Easily track child transactions like refunds linked to the original payment for accurate financial record-keeping.
