Activate Tap Payment Provider

Tap Provider Credentials

From the Credentials tab on the Tap provider form in Odoo, enter your API Secret Key. Select the Test or Production environment state and publish the provider to make it available for your customers.

Tap Payment Options

Select the payment options to offer during checkout such as All, Cards, KNET, MADA, Benefit, Fawry or OmanNet directly from the provider configuration, along with 3D secure configuration.

Seamless Shopping Cart

Customers can add products to their eCommerce cart and instantly view the selected items, quantities and totals before proceeding to checkout.

Proceed to Payment

From the checkout page selecting Tap as the payment method and clicking Pay Now securely redirects the customer to the external Tap hosted checkout page.

Tap Hosted Checkout

On the Tap hosted checkout page, customers can securely complete their payment using Credit/Debit Cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal and other supported payment methods available through the Tap gateway based on configuration.

3D Secure Authentication

During checkout, customers may be prompted with a 3D Secure verification step to authenticate their transaction, providing an additional layer of security.

Payment Success Confirmation

After successful authentication, the Tap gateway displays a payment success screen, indicating that the transaction has been processed securely.

Order Confirmation

After a successful transaction, the customer is automatically redirected back to the Odoo Order Confirmation page, where a success message and order reference are displayed.

Track Backend Transactions

View and manage detailed Payment Transactions directly within Odoo's backend, where statuses are automatically updated to Confirmed in real time.

Process Manual Refunds

Initiate full or partial refunds for successful payments directly from the payment record in Odoo using the built-in Refund button.

Refund Status Confirmation

Upon successful refund processing, Odoo displays a notification banner and automatically logs the refund activity in the chatter, ensuring a complete audit trail of the refund process.

Refund Child Transactions

A separate child transaction is created for every processed refund, making it easy to track and reconcile refund activities linked to the original payment.

Refund Transaction Details

Each refund transaction includes dedicated Tap Details displaying key refund information such as the Refund ID and the current Tap Status (Refunded).

Enable Manual Capture

In the Tap payment provider settings, enable the 'Capture Amount Manually' configuration to authorize payments during checkout and capture them later.

Checkout with Manual Capture

Customers add items to their cart and proceed to the checkout page as usual.

Select Tap Payment

The customer selects Tap as the payment method, initiating the authorization-only flow.

Authorize Payment on Tap

The customer enters their card details on the Tap hosted page. The funds are authorized and placed on hold but are not immediately deducted.

Order Confirmation (Authorized)

The customer is redirected back to Odoo, receiving confirmation that their payment has been authorized successfully.

Backend Status: Authorized

In the Odoo backend, the payment transaction status is marked as 'Authorized', indicating the funds are on hold. You can choose to Capture or Void the transaction.

Capture Transaction Details

When you capture the payment, a confirmed child transaction is created to record the successful collection of the authorized funds.

Capture Success Details

The captured child transaction shows the updated Tap Status as 'Captured', confirming that the funds have been successfully deducted.

Process Refund on Captured Payment

You can initiate partial or full refunds on a captured transaction. Odoo will log the refund initiation and confirmation in the chatter.

Refund Transaction Record

A refund transaction record is generated, detailing the refunded amount, the Tap Refund ID and the Tap Status.

Enable Tokenization (Saved Cards)

Enable the 'Allow Saving Payment Methods' option in the Tap provider configuration to let customers securely save their card details for future purchases.

Checkout with Tokenization

During the checkout process, customers proceed to the payment stage to place their order.

Save Payment Method Option

The customer selects Tap and checks the 'Save my payment details' option before clicking Pay Now.

Secure Token Generation

The customer completes the payment on Tap. Their card details are securely tokenized by the Tap gateway without being stored directly in Odoo.

Order Confirmation (Saved Card)

The customer returns to the Odoo order confirmation page and their tokenized card is securely linked to their account.

In the Odoo backend, the payment transaction record displays the associated Saved Payment Token used for the purchase.

The payment token record stores the secure reference required for processing future transactions effortlessly.

Future Checkout

For subsequent purchases, the customer navigates back to the checkout page to pay for their new order.

Select Saved Card

Instead of entering card details again, the customer can simply select their previously saved Tap payment method from the available options.

One-Click Order Confirmation

The payment is processed instantly using the secure token, offering a frictionless one-click checkout experience.

Pay Invoices via Portal

Enable customers to pay their outstanding Invoices directly from the Odoo Customer Portal using the integrated Tap secure checkout gateway or their saved payment tokens.

Instant Invoice Reconciliation

Upon successful payment of an invoice, Odoo automatically updates the invoice status to Paid and reconciles the transaction instantly.
