Looker Studio Embedded Dashboards
Open your Looker Studio reports right inside Odoo’s Dashboards app — the same sidebar, groups, and favorites you already use. Paste the link from Looker and your team sees analytics without leaving Odoo.
Important — before people open the dashboard
- Odoo: Each user must be allowed to open that dashboard in Odoo (your usual app rights and published dashboards).
- Google account: Each user should be signed in to Google in the browser with an account that is allowed to view the report in Looker Studio. Private reports must be shared in Google with those people (or a Google Group / Workspace group they belong to).
- Embedding: In Looker Studio, turn on embedding when Google asks you to allow the report on other sites.
- Right link: Use the address from Share → Embed report, not only the simple “open report” link.
- Opening the dashboard: When someone opens the dashboard in Odoo, the report loads from Google for that moment. Staying on the same tab for a long time without closing it may show older numbers until they refresh the browser or open the dashboard again — that behavior comes from Looker and the browser, not from Odoo running background jobs.
- Company networks: Very strict browser or network rules can sometimes block embedded content. If something fails only on the office network, ask IT whether embedded Looker pages are allowed.

Looker reports sit next to your normal spreadsheet dashboards — one app, one menu. No extra bookmarks or mystery links for users to hunt down.
Choose per dashboard line
Each line can stay a classic spreadsheet dashboard or become an embedded report, so you can roll out Looker one dashboard at a time.
Use the link Looker gives you
Copy the address from Share → Embed report in Looker Studio. If someone pastes a normal “open report” link by mistake, Odoo adjusts it so the report still displays correctly inside Odoo.
Same security as the rest of Odoo
Only users who are allowed to open that dashboard in Odoo can load the report. Your usual Odoo access rules still apply.
Desktop and phone
The report uses the full content area in the Dashboards app on large screens and on mobile, so it stays easy to read on the go.
Spreadsheets stay as they are
Nothing changes for dashboards you don’t switch to embedded mode — only the lines you configure show Looker inside Odoo.
How to get started
- Install Looker Studio embedded dashboards from Apps (you need the Spreadsheet dashboard app).
- In Looker Studio, turn on embedding if Google asks you to allow the report in other websites.
- Open Share → Embed report and copy the embed link — not just the quick “view” link people use to open the report in a browser tab.
- In Odoo, go to Dashboards configuration, open your group, and pick the dashboard line.
- Set Dashboard type to Embedded report and paste the link into Embed URL.
- Publish the dashboard; users open it from the main Dashboards menu like any other.
