Purchase Warning On Product Variants
Extends standard Odoo Purchase functionality by enabling purchase warnings on product variants. Allows users to define specific warning messages for each variant. Provides more granular control compared to template-level warnings.
Key Features
Improved Variant-Level Control
Supports different warnings for different variants of the same product. Ideal for handling special conditions such as restricted suppliers, special pricing, or custom handling. Enhances purchase accuracy and operational awareness.
Multiple Warning Types
Supports three warning types for each product variant:
• No Message – No warning will be shown.
• Warning – Displays a warning message when the variant is on a purchase order line.
• Blocking Message – Shows a popup and prevents adding the product to the purchase order line.
Real-Time Validation on Purchase Orders
When a user selects a product variant on the purchase order line, the system automatically checks the configured warning type. Ensures immediate notification or restriction based on business rules. Helps prevent incorrect or restricted product purchases.
How to Configure
- Install the module in your Odoo instance.
- Enable "Purchase Warnings" option from Purchase --> Configuration --> Settings.
- Set warning type and warning message on the product variant (Purchase tab).

Required Configuration

Add Warning Message
Select warning type as 'Warning' and add warning message on the product variant (Purchase tab).
Warning on Purchase Order
When the product is on a purchase order line, the warning message appears in the purchase order header.
Blocking Message (Product Config)
Select warning type as 'Blocking Message' and add warning message on the product variant.
Blocking Message on Purchase Order
Adding the product to a purchase order line is blocked; the user sees the blocking message.
