Key Features
Everything you need to capitalize logistics costs on internal warehouse transfers.
Internal Transfer SupportApply landed costs directly to warehouse-to-warehouse and branch-to-branch internal transfers — a feature Odoo cannot do natively. |
Safe SVL AdjustmentsStock Valuation Layer adjustments that never corrupt historical layers. Clean, traceable additions with full audit integrity. |
FIFO & AVCO ReadyFully compatible with both FIFO and Average Cost valuation methods. Automatically recalculates standard price for AVCO products. |
5 Allocation MethodsDistribute costs equally, by quantity, by weight, by volume, or by current cost. Choose the method that matches your logistics reality. |
Automatic Journal EntriesOne-click validation generates correct accounting entries: Debit Stock Valuation, Credit Landed Cost Clearing. No manual journals. |
Smart Button Audit TrailEvery internal transfer shows a smart button with associated landed costs, amounts, and linked journal entries for instant traceability. |
How It Works
Three simple steps to accurate inventory valuation.
|
1
Complete Internal TransferProcess your warehouse-to-warehouse transfer in Odoo Inventory as usual. Once validated, the transfer is ready. |
2
Add Landed CostsOpen a Landed Cost record, select your internal transfer, add cost lines (freight, insurance, handling). |
3
Validate & DoneOne click: SVL adjusted, journal entries posted, product cost recalculated automatically. |
How to Use
FIRST — Assign User Access
Go to Settings → Users & Companies → Users. Ensure the user has the Inventory access group. No custom groups required.
Complete an Internal Transfer
Go to Inventory → Operations → Internal Transfers. Create and validate a warehouse-to-warehouse transfer. Once in Done state, it is eligible for landed cost allocation.
Create a Landed Cost
Go to Inventory → Valuation → Landed Costs → New. In the Transfers field, your internal transfers now appear alongside vendor receipts.
Add Cost Lines
Under Cost Lines, add each cost: freight, handling, insurance. Select a landed cost product or enter amounts manually. Each line needs a split method and account.
Validate & Review
Click Validate. The system creates SVL entries, posts journal entries, and updates AVCO product cost. Review the Valuation Adjustments tab and journal entry link.
Testing Guide
Verify every feature with these test scenarios.
Test 1: Equal AllocationTransfer 3 products. Apply $300 with Equal split. Each product should get exactly $100 additional cost. |
Test 2: By QuantityTransfer 10 of A, 30 of B. Apply $400. A gets $100 (25%), B gets $300 (75%). |
Test 3: Journal EntryAfter validation, check the linked journal entry. Debits = Stock Valuation, Credits = Expense. Must balance. |
Test 4: AVCO Price UpdateProduct at $100, 10 on hand. Apply $50 landed cost. Price should update to $105. |
